SniffiVerse™ walkies Toot
Ello frens and fans of Arwen
We're out and about on adventure again! It's a warm night, with 14°C. The moon will be late, so I doubt that I'll see it this time... Bummer!
My leg was being an asshat at the gym, and I only rode the seated bike for a while. The pain that comes when the keg starts tingling is enough to put me off to do anything else. Not that I need much persuasion to quit these days. I am just so tired of dealing with the discomfort and pain, that it gets harder for me to keep going.
But, we're out on walkies now. And I hope go ride the hometrainer and do some exercises when we get back from them.
I don't really have any plans for today. Maybe I could pull some weeds from the garden? 🤔 My gear is with my neighbor, so I'd just need to try and pull out what I can sigh my gloves. But I heiss every little thing would help? But doing the gardens is just like doing the painting touching up... It's hard to get started. And I only did one round of white, I need to do a second. And I'll need to do a round of purple as well.... Ugh...
Maybe I can get some gaming in today? Would be nice... Or, maybe I could take Arwen to the Herperduin this morning? Ugh... My brain is full of ideas, meaning I'll struggle to do just one of them in the end... Thanks ADHD...
I hope you're all Having a good (start of the) weekend. The first spring time weekend for us. One more week of winter time, as next Saturday (going in Sunday) we'll "lose" an hour and head to summer time here. That will be quite something, not just for me and my routine, but for Arwen and hers as well...
Let's see if I can write a bit for my blog now. I'll catch you all later!

My leg wasn't having it today at the gym... It bummed out way too early (for my liking).
I'll definitely need to try to do some exercises at home this morning.
I've been doing some abs-roller and dumbbell ones the last few days, so that's something I guess... Every bit helps? I do hope so... 🤞🏻
Just hate it that it takes so little for my leg to tingle away... 😔 Stupid nerves being "trapped" against the slightly moved hip socket bit...
Oof. I'm sorry.
I'm of an age where sometimes I just step wrong and my angle hurts, so like an old guy, I keep a velcro wrap everywhere I go.
Thanks! Yeah... I'm not that old yet, but I've had a bad hip all my life, though we only discovered this when I was 16...
Had many surgeries. And now I'll need another one. 😔 The issue is causing the tingling and feelings of "rattling". So, while I absolutely don't want to get more surgeries, I kinda want this one to be done and over with, so I can hopefully get some normal use of my leg back again.... 😊
Surgeon will call me Tuesday afternoon with the results of the puncture test, so yeah, hopefully I'll know more after that.... 🤞🏻
Owwww wow! I never broke much, but I did dislocate, sprain, and bruise things. Probably didn't break much due to the hypermobility, but it did cause more other injuries... But yeah, injuries of the past often mean weaker points when we get older... 😔

It will soon be Autism awareness month, that wonderful time of the year when many autistics hit their foxholes screaming "incoming", or take to their bunkers and hide.
"But why?" I hear you ask. "Surely awareness is a good thing?"
Well, obviously yes, normally, but mostly, actually, no. Not in the way this normally pans out, anyway. Because this is the time of year when everything starts getting lit up blue and puzzle pieces start making their appearance and Autism Speaks articles rear their ugly, eugenic, heads. No matter how many times the vast bulk of the autism community explain that these symbols and the organisation that they are linked to, do not bloody speak for us and never sodding will.
Pity-me mothers parade their kids to showcase how terrible their lives are, or how there isn't enough help for their darling children. Which, whilst admittedly this is true for the kids, could be highlighted in better ways. Various celebrities and sports stars come out about the wonders of being diagnosed with autism and the huge change it has made in their pampered lives and puff pieces pop up everywhere about how someone succeeded because of their autistic superpower, or how they wouldn't be where they were now without it, or how someone's a hero, for standing up for their autistic friend. And editors across the land, slap themselves on their backs for such a wonderful job of awareness and here's to the next year and then silence once again falls.
OK, I may be slightly exaggerating this, but unfortunately not by as much as you might be thinking. So many times, even within the good articles and representation, there is the implicit message that only an official diagnosis can do this for you, which is a real kick in the teeth for everyone who has as much chance of getting one of those, as of winning the lottery. That this is something that is seen in us, rather than something that we can see ourselves. And all too often, even with the good stuff, it's always accompanied by the stock, what is autism? answers, from the internet. You know, the ones that just dryly quote the highlights of our disorder, in a way that none of us can actually recognise ourselves in and certainly don't help with others seeing us.
And this is the real problem with awareness month. It's all fine and dandy trying to increase awareness. But of what? Is it the problems and struggles, the difficulty of having autistic children, or being autistic in a world without support? The virtues of finally having your eyes opened to your autistic superpower? Of how the community and others could finally rally around you.
Or is it the different stories that finally allow others to see us, or even for us to finally see ourselves after decades in the dark. That allow the friend or neighbour, or workmate to maybe stop seeing you as the weird, or creepy, or even scary, person. But instead, someone who's just different, who sees and perhaps understands the world in a way that they don't. Not superpowered, or a burden, or broken in any way. Just yourself, just autistic. The stories that lead to acceptance and not just awareness.

The last few years have thankfully avoided the worst of it here, unlike other places from what I can gather. But yes, it can be distinctly unpleasant.
ActuallyAutistic group reshared this.
That's why I prefer direct contact with as many people as I can, autistic and non-autistic, both on social media and in person.
In this day and age, it's not uncommon for people to try to make money by deceiving and scamming people who need help. And that's why I don't trust institutions, therapists, and activists. In my personal life, I have at least three diagnosed autistic people in my family and four acquaintances, plus another three or four relatives and several friends who feel on the spectrum, and with that, I almost have a tribe. I've also met autistic people on the street, on the bus and in plazas and parks, some patients and people I never saw before. Social media and internet nonsense aren't real life.

@Tooden @anxiousspotato when I first bought fimo, the first thing I tried to make was an infinity badge. It was a thing from the Aspies for Freedom forum. Someone suggested it as a way to recognise fellow members, so I made one. It got a little burnt when I had to bake it.
No one else made one 😅
It fell off the clip in Asda, and I got distressed and had to go back into the store and retrace all my steps until I found it. I still have it, I'll see it I can dig it up.
Speaking of AFF, does anyone remember the Neurotypicalism Speaks parody a teenage member of the forum made? They were 14 iirc. Everyone there enjoyed it, and then #autismspeaks threatened the kid with legal action. They threatened to sue a 14 year old autistic child over a parody site.
I saw it and it was funny and harmless. I'm going to see if an archive version is avaliable anywhere.
That's the kind of group they are. It always makes me rage when I see books with endorsements or even intros from that nasty group. Why would anyone from the autistic community want anything to do with them?

But that's not the original parody. I did find a similar site, but it almost endorses that nasty hate group, so I'm not going to link it, even though it's kinda funny.

Then I heard the image was a sad puzzle piece, I thought that's so sad. So I drew my own puzzle piece in my favourite colour. It happily explores space with stars and a moon in a ufo... 👽
I do like the infinity symbol in many colours a lot, but I haven't come up with a nice image yet. Maybe I can plan to do that in april?
Also, what do you think about making april here in the fediverse like we want out autism what-ever- month to look like? We could post more about our hobbies? What hints and observations or good news? 🤔 Or would it trigger you too much because it'd be in April?
I do find it funny when someone claims to dictate what speaks for the ____ community. especially for autism.
@murdoc @anxiousspotato @neurodiversity I recently read "10 Reasons We Need Autistic Pride", and I absolutely LOVE the version of the rainbow lemniscate used as the article header! I've always been fascinated with the lemniscate, both for its intrinsic shape and for its role as a symbol of infinity.

Not sure how many know this, or how acknowledged it is, but found this looking up about it:
"Did you know that Autism Acceptance Month was originally called Autism Awareness Month? Over time, the focus of the month isn’t just about making people “aware” of autism, but more on the acceptance of autism.
The month kicks off with World Autism Awareness Day, which was originally founded by Dr. Bernard Rimland in 1970 after his own son was diagnosed with autism. The first Autism Awareness Month was held in April 2007 with the goal of educating people on autism and raising awareness of its existence.
Since then, the movement has occurred yearly, with a new goal—to tell the stories of autistic people. Autism Awareness Month now aims to cultivate understanding and acceptance of autism, which includes the wants, needs, struggles, and triumphs of autistic people."

By the way, yes Autism Speaks sucks. As does their hero William Shatner who has attacked autistic people who dared try to inform him they suck (he even hates anyone who uses #actuallyautistic). And their awful 100 Day Kit for Parents (advertised on Sesame Street and such) which encourages parents to grieve for loss of the "non-austistic child" they thought they had. I hope he learned that he had entirely the wrong attitude, or that his children escaped him and his community. @davey_cakes @pathfinder
In their "100 Day Kit for Parents" it's apparently ok to be angry at a child with leukemia getting attention and sympathy when your child has been diagnosed as autistic...
Your child ain't dying... To want a bit of support is fine, but this is nuts.
@davey_cakes @Carnivius I have a disabled daughter; we're both autistic. I have a tiny slivver of sympathy for the idea of greiving for my non-disabled daughter — probably not in the way they mean.
I wish she didn't have to deal with the ME, the PTSD, the EDS and even *in a way* the autism, because her life is harder because of all these things.
But the autism is what makes her, her. The "harder" comes from dealing with everyone else. I love her autistic self; she's just like me…
@Carnivius That sounds like a horrible choice of words. Grief and mourning for a life you thought you’d have is an ordinary reaction, and a key part of accepting what your life actually is, but framing it as grieving the loss of a theoretical child is just awful.
It seems to me that “autism awareness” has the same issues as most “awareness” campaigns — “adversity porn” that turns people into spectacles and stereotypes. The road to hell is paved with good intentions, as usual. 🙄

My sister, who is also ND, but successful, is kicking me out basically onto the street, in this month of Autism Awareness/Acceptance. It is impossible to reason with her, or even talk to civilly.
I just left a reply to a prospective "intentional community" I'd like to be a part of, when they noted they didn't respond to any of my requests bc I didn't include any references. I had to explain that I'm autistic, and tend to become very isolated when shit gets bad 1/2

No, not really. What there is tends to be about much younger people and even the good interviews and pieces, always seem to want to add the stock definitions of autism, which isn't always helpful and maybe comment on how it's on the increase, without, of course, just giving the obvious reason why. It's definitely better, but still biased away from self-diagnosis.

I think it reflects how a lot of people, including obviously those who set policy, just don't know how to think about this. In their lifetimes, it's gone from "rain man", or mad scientist, to bloke next door. Hence, I think, why some seem to prefer viewing it as something that is being over-diagnosed and almost a fad normal people are latching onto. In their minds it takes things back to what it should be, what it used to be.
It takes time for the new, to become normal and different countries are travelling at different rates, if they are being allowed to travel at all.

All too often it's because of how it is framed, that is restricting people's ability to change. We've moved beyond the medicalisation of it, but the language hasn't.

On a related note within the last month or so I have seen a couple of articles in Irish media using identity-first language where in the past they had always used person-first language -even in the otherwise good articles.
I don't know if it was just random, but I hope it wasn't.
[I know it's not a 100% thing, but I have seen a strong preference for identity-first language from autistic people.]

This whole topic made me make a list with 31 question... I wanted to make a nice paper for them, but got distracted...
Anyhow here's the list. I'd be very happy if someone helped me to fix wording or such ...
Here's my ideas:
----------------------------
1. What is your current hobby(special interst)?
2. Tell us a thing you like about your autism? What do you like about yourself?
3. What is you favourite stim?
4. How would you explain autism to someone who never heard about this?
5. Let's invent new autism logo's, because we don't want to be puzzle pieces. Share your ideas and drawings!
6. What was an occasion where you felt able to unmask and be yourself around others?
7. What is a funny or curious fact you learned from pursing your hobbies (special Interests)?
8. Have you ever been praised for being honest?
9. What would your perfect day look like? Dreaming allowed, doesn't have to be realistic!
10. What's the thing you struggle with most being autistic in everyday life? Are there workarounds that help you? e.h. headphones against noise?
11. I want to make a link-list, so ... What websites do you recommend to learn about autism?
12. Are you late-diagnosed?
13. What is a skill you can do very well? Do you think, it is because you are autistic?
14. Let's make a image! What makes you happy? Drawing stick figures is perfectly fine!
15. Share a piece of advice about how people tic and why. What did life teach you?
16. As a child, what were your hobbies? What toys did you like to play with?
17. Sometimes one feels like one does not belong in with world... Would you like to meet aliens? What would you do, if you did? Alternatively, would you like to travel in space?
18. What tools and tricks help you get along in everyday life? Share your experience?
19. Do you have a favourite plush toy? Let's share cute images!
20. Who has treated you unfairly because of your autism? Let's write them an angry letter, (you don't have to send it...)

@adelinej 😆 Yes! Exactly that!
I think this should have a hashtag. We could use #AutismApril or something in combination with other hashtags like: #actuallyautistic or
#autismacceptancemonth to make the questions&answer toots searchable?
Looking forward to read you answer, and of course I'll write an answer to the questions as well. 😀

Ello sweet and lovely Friendos
I is back sweet Friendos! Hope that you all had/have a lovely start to the weekend!
I hope that the weather will be good enough so I may pull out some weeds from the garden. My neighbor has my gear, so maybe with my gloves, I'll be able to pull some out to make a start? Maybe?
The GP visit went well. I had a good chat with her, and we discussed the options. She also asked about my leg and how that was going. I was expecting a code from the pharmacy to pick up meds, but I never received one. So I guess I won't be picking up my meds this weekend... Bummer... But yeah, we're going to try some meds that I'm familiar with for the days where my brain is going kabloohey, to see if that will help me... (once I have the meds... I only take one when the brain is going madly badly and all that).
Then Arwen and I went to the Herperduin, and I think it's safe to say that Arwen had a great time. She even had some play time at the water side. 😊 If the weather allows, I'll take her there more often again, as we both do enjoy it a lot. I made a little vid that can be found here:
makertube.net/w/g7qYSqreSt6YbM…
Let's check my other socials and then I guess I'll need to start doing something here at the gym. hihi...
Catch you later folks!

@tldr 🤖 please do your thing for me. 😊
I woke just before the alarm. I thought I had an hour left but when I looked again, it was just a few minutes... So I got up, abused the scale, and got dressed. I took my meds, prepped Arwen's food, and took her out for her business. Then I fixed her food and she was happily eating when I got my bag to head to the gym.
I had several messages from some very sweet friends, so I caught up with them, while I waited for the meds to kick in. When the protein shake was done and the meds had taken effect I got to the seated bike. I wanted to ride 45 minutes but I barely made it to 42 and then my leg was just tingling too badly... 😔 I used the massage chair to relax and then I got ready to head back home again.
Washed up, changed clothes, and enjoyed brekky. Then I took Arwen out for our walkies. The weather was lovely enough and we had a nice walk. It was a bit cloudy and the moon had a late rise, so it was harder to get a nice shot of her.
When we got back, I rode my hometrainer for half an hour. Then I fixed some food. A short walkies with Arwen. Then some relaxing. The sun came out, so I started the dishwasher. Then I had to leave to visit the GP.
The visit went well and she prescribed me some meds that could possibly help me when my brain goes kabloohey. Unfortunately, I didn't get a pickup code from the pharmacy, so I can't get them yet... 😔
After I got back, I took Arwen to the Herperduin. The weather was lovely, it wasn't too busy yet, so Arwen and I had a good time together. Arwen even had some splashes with her ball, yay. We just did a short round, as she was a bit tired already, and we still had to walk back. But when we got home again, she got a very good snooze!
I let the washing machine do it's thing, as the sun was still doing it's magic. I relaxed a bit in between and after, when the washing had been hung. Arwen wanted a walkies and was disappointed that we didn't see her friends. I crashed on the couch a bit with Under the Dome, as I needed to recharge some.
Then we got ready for walkies with N&B. We had lovely weather, although there was some annoying wind. But it was about 21°C, and there was sun, so that was very nice.
We relaxed for a bit after I set everything up for the night. A last wee for Arwen and then we headed to bed.
I woke once for the loo after a weied dream. Then I woke again thinking I was an hour early.
But I had another weird dream so I was ready to get up. Then I checked the clock again, and it was only a few minutes to the alarm... Whoops! Not that early...
And I was ready to start a new day/night/weekend.

The image features a chocolate Labrador Retriever standing on a muddy shore by a lake. The dog is holding a bright yellow tennis ball in its mouth, with its tongue slightly out, suggesting it has been playing. The dog's fur is shiny and wet, indicating it may have been in the water. The background shows a calm lake with a clear blue sky above and a line of trees in the distance, suggesting a natural, outdoor setting. The lighting is bright, indicating it is a sunny day. The dog is positioned in the center of the image, with the lake to its left and the trees to its right, creating a balanced composition.

She really loves it! 😁 She can't play as much as she used to, but I try to get a wee bit of playing in every time we go. We'll walk a little less so that she can have some "swims" (it's usually just walking through the water these days). 😊

Diary of an ASD Squirrel. Day 510 , Friday 21/03/2025
Friday started really early at around ten past six in the very AM! This was despite another night where I had disturbed sleep thru noised form next door & my body presenting the bill for yesterdays efforts in the gravel pit!
I really struggled to get myself going so read awhile & then headed down for breakfast.
Mrs S was away to work at the office today so once she left I finished my chores & around 9am went out for another gravel grovelling session.
Progress is being made, after 5 hours I had finally got the gravel level in the bulk bag down to about the ¼ full mark, maybe slightly less. The reed bed filter is nearly full so my efforts are paying off. It does seem to be the job that never ends though!
Started Fallout 76’s season 20 this afternoon as my hands were not too sore - more my back & knees.
Pizza for tea & a couple of ‘Waking the dead’ episodes to take us thru to Mrs S’s bed time.
So I’m here at 20:45 on my own. I might get another early night & go to bed & read for a while.
Final Thoughts.
The whole reed bed cleaning exercise is a ver 2 edged sword. On the one hand it seems to be taking just forever! On the other there is definite progress, the water going back into the pond is crystal clear & the gravel levels are starting to get back to their original state. I might have to get a couple of extra small bags of pea gravel as there has been some spillage , some of which might be recoverable but some is gone into places where recovery is not an option.
It’s been nice working out in the warm weather I have to admit. The little bluetooth speaker I got for my audio books has quite the range & I was listening to my fave tracks in the garden with the iPad in the lounge.
A few days off from the gravel pit now, it’s Mrs S’s birthday on Sunday & she has next week off & we are planning on going out for lunch & maybe out to Doncaster Wildlife park if the weather improves during the week.
Thank you to all those who are helping me on this journey, in a myriad different ways. I am thankful to each & every one of you! 🫂 🫶🐿️🖖

Good evening Squirrel Fans.
Whilst I have yet to be chased thru Uberwald by werewolves as Commander Vimes is in tonight’s quote, I can vouch for the veracity of statement about frozen underwear - when one is cleaning out a pond filter in cold weather chafing is definitely a problem if one does not have waterproof work clothes!
“The chafing qualities of frozen underwear can be seriously underestimated. He’d been running for half an hour. Well, for twenty-five minutes, really. The other five had been spent limping, wheezing, clutching at his chest and wondering how you knew if you were having a heart attack.”
― Terry Pratchett, The Fifth Elephant
Right off to bed to rest my paws & read my book - yes I know - I am that party squirrel!
Wherever you are, whatever you are doing, I hope you’re well & safe! 😊🫶🖖

Good afternoon lovely, it did help getting out, but I found it difficult at times,
I just keep wondering what I've done to my Mum for her to be the way she is with me.
I know my brother has always just done whatever is required for a quiet life.
But I've raised two adult kids, and co run my own home for over thirty years.
I refuse to be treated like a 'stroppy teen-ager'
Oh well
I hope you're having a most splendid day 💖💖
I’m so sorry this is weighing on you. You’ve done nothing to deserve being treated badly. IMO she is miserable and has decided that she can take it out on you.
I’m not sure there is much you can do to fix this, but maybe think about how your family, friends and those of us here value you. ❤️

Out of control brain
I’ve always had a busy brain. A million thoughts. A thousand ideas. All these plans with things that I would love to do. Busy, busy, and very busy. I never knew any better. And, before I got Fibro, I was able to keep up with my brain, I was able to keep it satisfied and content. But, as my body was failing to keep up with the activities that my brain was used to, I started to struggle some.
For about 1,5 years now, I have been taking ADHD meds and… They meant a change for me. I had a little less issues with getting to sleep. I was able to focus on things better. To actually make plans of things that I was able to do. And, even though it was less than my brain was hoping for, it was at least a bit easier to satisfy it with the things I could do…
But lately, I have been struggling more. I had these thoughts of doing this or that, usually things that I could easily do, and I found myself struggling to actually do them. I have more issues with concentrating. I have more headaches. I have weird dreams and I often wake up, still feeling tired.
Simple things, as eating properly, getting my exercises in, playing a game… It was getting harder to deal with. So, I finally scheduled an appointment with my GP. But, as things are with health care here, to find a day and time that suited me, it meant that the appointment was over 3 weeks away from the moment I scheduled it.
And I know my issue wasn’t life threatening. I know I have managed without the meds for quite some time, and I still have them, so I still get something out of them. But, it feels like they are abandoning me. My eyes hurt, I feel tired a lot, my brain is a big mess of all these thoughts and ideas and feelings.
I guess part of it could be triggered with the stressful things that have been happening. The financial mess my male ex is making with the house we still have (I really can’t wait till we can finally sell it). The issues with my hip, and it needing another surgery. Needing to get a grip on all of my finances, as some have changed due to the move and all. Being afraid that some day, I will wake up, or come home from the gym, and find that Arwen may have left me… 😔 So yeah, maybe the stress is getting to me as well. So it may be even more important to reach out and ask for help, discuss the options, if there are any…
So maybe these additional symptoms are just temporary. Maybe they will get better as some things may improve, or at least become less uncertain? But until then, I may need some additional help to keep my brain in a better condition. It’s been quite a while since I’ve had so many of these days.
They start OK, most of the time. I have plans, ideas, of things that I could be doing during that day. I start doing them. Sometimes it goes well, other times, my body is more reluctant… But then, when the needed chores have neem done, or even before that, I start rouget a bad headache. My eyes become very sensitive to light (even more than usual). There is this pounding behind my eyes. I need to take a painkiller, hope that it will help, and have a dark room to lay down in. Sometimes I need silly distraction, as my mind can be racing like crazy.
Some days it’s not too bad, and it goes within an hour. But some days… It’s making my eyes water, I can’t focus, I’m so sensitive to everything and when it’s finally fading again, I feel so exhausted… Ugh…
So I’ll just have to keep going for now. I need to find the best way to deal with this, and hope that I’ll always be able to provide my brain the calm and dark it needs when ti’s this bad. But if course it also happens when I have appointments, and then I’ll just have to make it happen somehow…
I wish it were just an easy case of “just don’t do that and it will be better”. But with mental health issues, it’s never that easy. And there are so many influences that can have a negative effect on how I am doing… Even if I would stay in a dark and quiet room all day, I would still struggle…
Stress, hormones, pain, anxiety, changes, worries… These things “just” keep happening, and most aren’t under my control, unfortunately…
Step by step, day by day… Trying to do everything I can to keep it as bearable as I can. Taking my meds, trying to laten to my body, planning things so it’s not all coming at once…
To be continued…

Hope you're all doing well! It's almost weekend dears! yay!
One more busy day today, OK, there is just one appointment, but still...
GP at 8, to talk about the bad days I've been having with my ADHD. Where I get such a bad headache that tears form in my eyes. Where I'm so sensitive to sound and light that I need to black out the room as much as I can. That I just can't focus or relax... Someone suggested that, for those days, there may me some medication that could support my methylphenidate. So that's what I wanna ask the GP, and I hope she can help me with that.
Exercises so far:
I rode the seated bike this morning until my leg got too bad, which was about 40 minutes. We had a decent walk with Arwen, slow but very enjoyable. I rode the hometrainer for 30 minutes. I did several exercises with my dumbbells and abs-roller. Short walk with Arwen. And now I've been riding the hometrainer again for 40 minutes......
I'll walk to the GP soon, and back. Then, I'll take Arwen to the Herperduin, where hopefully it won't be too busy. 🤞🏻
After that? I guess I will crash and be exhausted. 😂
Or... Maybe I'll have some energy to play a game... And, of I go nuts, I may see about pulling some weeds
Anywhoo.... Some relaxing now, before I have to walk to the GP (and back). Let's see how today will go...

would this (one single report) be something anyone at Microsoft would really care about?
I would imagine being a free sign up service they probably just rely on an automated system that would just trigger once an address has been reported many times

Ello frens and fans of Arwen
We're back on another adventure
It's a warmer night at the moment, with 7°C and it being dry and not too humid. The real feel is about 5, so not bad at all. It's nice to wear normal pants again and not be cold. The thermal ones are comfortable enough, but sometimes it's nice to have a lighter pants and jacket on. And not needing gloves...
Today should be a warm day, or so the forecast tells me. The estimated high temps should be around 20°C, so that's not bad at all, especially since the spring just began. 😊
I only rode the seated bike at the gym. I wanted to go for 45 minutes, but after almost 42, the tingling got too bad and I could not continue. Bugger!
So, as. I shared in the gym Toot, I have my GP appointment today. Let's see if there is something that could help me with the worse ADHD days, where my busy brain is giving me these awful headaches and even higher sensitivities than usual... After that, I hope that the Herperduin won't be too crowded already, as I wanna take Arwen there. I'm sure she'll love it. And I hope I will love it too...
A sweet friend sent me some money so I could get the new Suzanne Collins ebook, the 5th one of the Hunger Games series, Sunrise on the Reaping. We both love the series and movies, and she wanted me to be able to read the book ASAP as well.
But I've never tried calibre with Linux before, so I hope that I can get it installed, so that I can get the book and transfer it to the eReader. Fingers crossed 🤞🏻.
I don't know if I'll be able to work with that today, depends on how I feel after the GP and walkies at the Herperduin. 😊
I see many stars but I can't see the moon... 😔 Owwww my weather app says the moon won't rise till 2:20, so it will probably be a while till it will be visible here then.. 😔
Ah well, let's see how today will work out... I really was hoping to visit the zoo, but with the GP appointment, I just can't make it work... Bummer...
Hope you're all having a good time! #TZAG the weekend is near folks, it will be gone before we know it!
Catch you later folks!

@tldr please help me out by doing your thing! 🤖
I woke a few times during the night. And then about 25 minutes before my alarm was set to go off, so I got up. Did the usual routine with the scale, meds and Arwen's food. When she had a wee, I fixed her meal and then I got ready to head to the gym.
I checked social media while I was waiting for the meds to kick in. And I enjoyed the protein shake while I was at it. Then I got to the seated bike and I rode it till my leg gave out. Which doesn't take too long these days, damned hip... 😔 I enjoyed the massage chair and then I got ready to head back home again.
Washed up, changed clothes, and had brekky. After that, Arwen and I headed out for walkies. Arwen was really enjoying it and we walked a longer bit. I tried to get some moon snaps, but the moon was lower tonight, so it was a bit more challenging to get the snaps done.
When we got home, I changed clothes but I didn't exercise. I got my laptop and I worked on my blog a bit. Then I fixed food and got things ready for the trip to Nijmegen (and Germany).
Arwen and I had walkies and then we went to Skoosh. The trip to Nijmegen went well, and I filled up the tank. And I put in some air in the front tires, as I found out that the bar numbers I found last time were a bit too low for her. So I fixed that too. And then we went to my parents place.
When mum was ready, we headed to Germany. Got some groceries, filled up the Smurf (their blue car), and then drove to Nijmegen. Got some groceries at the Appie and headed home. I helped mum with her things and when she was done with those (and her coffee), we headed out for walkies with the dogs.
The weather was lovely and Arwen even played with the ball a wee bit. When we got back, I got my groceries in Skoosh, and we headed back home.
I cleaned up most of my groceries and then I fixed food for Arwen and myself. We relaxed a bit on the couch till it was time to go out for walkies with N&B. We had a good walk, Arwen had some safe splashes... Although the biiiiig puddle is becoming smaller, due to the dry and warm weather we've been having... So it's getting more muddy too... Yay for the cleaning afterwards 😂.
When we got back, I watched some telly. I prepared everything for the next day, let Arwen out for a wee, and then we headed to sleep. It didn't take too long to fall asleep.
I woke once for the loo and when I woke again it was about 14 minutes to the alarm. So I got up and I started my day... Or, night! 😉

Diary of an ASD Squirrel. Day 509 , Thursday 20/03/2025
Thursday started just before 7am. A lovely sunny day, perfect for gravel cleaning!
Had to pop down to the quacks for a blood test. Then got stuck in.
It was a nice warm day but I only managed 4 hours before Geoff, my hands & my spine started complaining so, given tomorrow has a passable forecast, I took the executive decision to have the rest of the day off.
Chilled this afternoon reading my book - really enjoying re-reading it as an adult.
Everything hurts this evening, I’m hoping a good nights sleep with the wrist support on will have me fighting fit for another few hours tomorrow!
Final Thoughts.
Cleaning this reed bed filter would be much easier with two, but Mrs S is not one for helping with big projects so it’s just me.
I wonder if some of my being so darn tired today is down to the whole thing around my talk therapy session yesterday.
Thank you to all those who are helping me on this journey, in a myriad different ways. I am thankful to each & every one of you! 🫂 🫶🐿️🖖

Yeah it's always harder when you need to do things alone that could be way easier with some help... 😔 But that's not how it usually works, unfortunately...
Yay for some relaxing with your book. 😊
Today should be even better weather here than yesterday, so maybe your weather will be good to, to get some more work done? Bit by bit... And wear the brace whenever it's possible! It will be able to provide the rest that your hand needs. 😊
Hope you're having a good night sweets 😘 maybe I'll catch you when you're up again 😉
@PixysJourney Thanks Cynni 🤗🥰
This gravel thing seems to be the job that never ends, another 5 hours today & still more to do!
Good evening Squirrel Fans.
One of the things I love about pTerry is his mastery of language, tonight’s quote being a prime example:
“The tincture of night began to diffuse the soup of the afternoon.
Lord Vetinari considered the sentence, and found it good. He liked 'tincture' particularly. Tincture. Tincture. It was a distinguished word, and pleasantly countered by the flatness of 'soup'. Yes. In which may well be found the croutons of teatime.”
― Terry Pratchett, Feet of Clay
Right I’m knackered so I’m off to read my book & then hit the sack. (No sacks were hurt during the making of this toot! )
Wherever you are, whatever you are doing, I hope you’re well & safe! 😊🫶🖖

SniffiVerse walkies update...
Well, not really an update, we're just still out and about. And... It's lovely weather. OK, I would not mind it being a bit warmer so I don't need the warmer clothes, bit drill, with 5 degrees, low humidity, and it being dry... I can't complain...
I'm currently listening to my very big (and ever growing) "Blog Journal" playlist, and it really has all sorts of songs. And while I'm really enjoying it, part of me just wants to switch back to my Roxette favs playlist. Maybe I need more familiarity? But that often means that I'm not doing too well... 🤔
I know I'm getting slightly anxious about the upcoming results of the painful puncture they did last week. I will get the results next Tuesday around 15:00. So yeah... Those results will say if I need antibiotics (and probably more testing then?) before surgery. But... If there is no infection (which is a small chance, knowing my luck... 😔), big IF, then they are free to schedule my surgery. And, depending on the waiting lists... I will hopefully then know a date.
I'm definitely not happy about needing the surgery. But with the way my hip is acting now, I will be happy if they can fix that for me. As it's rather annoyjng, and painful, at times... (hence me having it checked out). But yeah, knowing I need another surgery, another hospital stay, another 6 weeks of rehab with big limitations... That's not making me "warm and fuzzy" inside 😂. But, I do want that hip fixed!
So I just switched my music. I just need to have some more comfort from my songs now. Wish my head was more stable. Wish I felt less insecure. And, at moments like these, I do wish that I had a partner at times... Someone to chat with about my anxiety. Someone to help me, to comfort me, to be there for me... I'm sure that my mum will do her best for me. But she also needs a surgery for her stomach, so if things go "badly", we'll be having the surgeries around the same times. And that would make things difficult, as she won't be able to help me. And, of course, I won't be able to help her...
When I know more about the surgery, when I have a date, then I can plan. Then I can really ask people for help. However much I hate it, I will need help... And it's just really annoying that it will be 100% crutches for 6 weeks... Due to them needing to use more donor bone again... Ugh...
With most hip surgeries, there is a 100% crutches for a shorter period and then they are allowed to do more with just one crutch. Which makes it easier to do things on your own. But nope, I've already been warned, it will be a full 100% for six weeks. Again... Ugh...
So yeah, even though a surgery can still be months off, it could also go faster if I don't need the antibiotics. But, again, knowing my luck, I'll probably need them again...
Anywhoo... That's just me being worried already about things to come. It also makes it harder for me to do certain things, as the hip is just too wobbly for that right now. I'm just glad that I can still walk and ride the hometrainer (although some times the bikes will make my leg go tingle and all that... 😔 Which means I need to stop).
5 more days till I get the call from the surgeon. Wish he could call in the morning instead of around 15, as that means I'll be stressed about it all day... (considering I'm already stressed about it now 😂).
Let's see if I can distract myself with some streaming TV bit, as I don't feel like writing for my blog now. I just wrote half a book here!! 😂
Fankoos for your support folks!
I really appreciate it and it helps me a lot!

Morning Cynni, I hope that the results come back showing that there is no infection, I think the sooner they can get your surgery done the better, I know it’s a 6 week plus recovery, but that will be so much easier if it coincides with the warmer weather I’m thinking.
You know where I am if you ever need to chat Lovely. 🤗🥰

Good morning 🌸 sweets! 🤗 And Fankoos!
Yeah I'll know more this Tuesday afternoon... Fingers crossed 🤞🏻 for some good results. It will be a long six weeks. But if I know the "when", then I can plan for it and all. Now it's just a "it will happen some day" and that's driving me bonkers...

Being kept waiting is rarely a happy place to be. Hope the test results are good news & you find out all you need so you can finally wrap your head round what's going to be happening. 🫂🫂
Awwww 🥰 fankoos! Yeah that's very true... The waiting and uncertainty are just annoying. Yeah, I could have an infection. I could need antibiotics. But I could be OK. And most schedule that surgery.
