SniffiVerse™ walkies Toot

Ello frens and fans of Arwen

We're out and about, back on an adventure. It's a Monday to Tuesday night bit as it's vacation time here this week, and the carnival is still happening, it's been a bit busier on the road so far. While it's usually rather quiet...

Of course we're a bit earlier again now, as I had to get up earlier for a silly gall that did not want to wee before bed time... 🫣 I already set my alarm a bit earlier, but my subconscious woke me when it was time to get up so Arwen could wee. Which was fine, but it did mean less sleep for me, and being earlier at the gym and all.

So the gym was more busy, maybe also die to the vacation period this week... I rode the seated bike for half an hour and I did my best to walk 1k on the treadmill. Tried a decent speed (for me with my bad hip) and some incline. As it was still rather busy, I had an excuse to not do strength things. The massage chairs were taken, so that was a bummer. Of course they became available as soon as I was ready to go... 😔

It's -2°C at the moment, with a real feel of -4. There's not too much wind, so that's a plus. Arwen is very slow with her sniffs so that's annoying my leg a bit. Two steps, standing still, two more steps... I prefer a slow walk go all the standing still all the time, especially when it's slightly freezing.

As I shared in my gym Toot, there are a few chores and some other things that I would love to do. But I have no idea of I will really do any of them. These days, I'm struggling a lot with motivation and procrastination... 😔 I never was that bad, so I wonder if my hormones are messing with this a bit...

Let's see if I can write a bit for my blog. I have some posts lined up, but it's always good to have some more... 😉

Hope you're all having a good time #TZAG

I'll catch you all later folks!!

@tldr do your best please 😉

I got up just before the alarm. I guess the scale wasn't too bad, just a bummer that I can't seem to get below the 80 kilos these days. I got dressed, I took my meds, and I cared for Arwen. She was happily eating when I got my bag and headed to the gym.

After some social media, my protein shake, and my meds kicking in, I headed to the seated bike. I rode it for 43 minutes and then I was just exhausted... 😔 So I went to the massage chair and relaxed a bit. Then, I changed my shoes, and headed back home again.

Washed up, had brekky, and then got ready for walkies with Arwen. The weather was good enough for a nice walk. It was slightly freezing, but there wasn't much wind, so that was good. And it was dry. 😊 Arwen and I walked the "in-between" walkies. Not the short one but also not the medium one. Seems like Arwen really wants the shorter one these days, but I try to persuade her to the "in between" ones, as it is better for her and me. And when we're walking there, she seems OK and to be enjoying all the sniffs.

When we got back, I changed clothes and headed upstairs. I rode the hometrainer for 43 minutes as well. Then I got my abs roller and rolled a bit with it. I changed clothes again and worked on my blog a bit. Then, I fixed food and after that, Arwen and I went out for walkies.

We did run into the neighbor, bit there were no snacks. Arwen enjoyed the cuddles nevertheless. Then bestie called me as we were heading home. While on the phone, I decided to mop the house a bit. Just a quick one, but everything I cleaned, would be better than before I did that, I guess. 😊

After the call and mopping, I needed some relaxing. I managed to squeeze in some gaming, before I had to clean Skoosh again so we could head to the new Lidl. I was a wee bit early, but it wasn't too busy yet... So within 15 minutes, I found all that I needed, and I paid, and I headed back home again.

Some more gaming, till Arwen wanted out for walkies again. And, she was lucky again, as we saw the neighbor again, this time with nomnoms... Back home, I got back to my game again. I was really eager to know more about the story!

When Arwen had her meal, she wanted out again. No neighbor this time... Bummer for her. But then I could get back to my game again! Every time I was just getting into it, Arwen just wanted out! 😂

Then the neighbor texted that B really wanted his walkies. So, I quickly saved the game and we went out. We had a lovely walk, and it was 10°C and sunny, so that was an extra plus.

I played my game some more and then got ready for bed. Unfortunately, Arwen was very stubborn, and she didn't want to wee... So, grumbling, I changed my alarm time a bit, and I headed to bed. It didn't take too long to fall asleep. I woke 45 minutes before the alarm, at my old time, and quickly went to the loo. Then the scale, and I got dressed. Guess my subconscious was aware that Arwen may need to wee, which she did when we headed out.

And a new day had begun. It wasn't Tuesday yet, as I got up earlier...

Ello sweet and lovely Friendos

I is back! I is a bit early, thanks to Arwen... When I let her out for the last wee, she was definitely not interested in taking one. So I already set my alarm a little earlier. But I woke even earlier, as if my brain seemed to know that "Arwen needed to go out". And, of course, she needed a big wee now... But that meant less time to sleep for me...

I did remember to drive the other route to the gym, as one road is closed due to construction. So it was good that I reminded myself in time. 😊

There is only one more day of Carnival happening, so hopefully, after Tuesday has come and gone, things can get back to normal again. And, hopefully, the main street will soon smell less like stale beer and piss... 🤢 One of the downsides of carnival I guess. I used to celebrate it when I was younger (yeah, I'm ancient now 😂), but it's just too expensive these days. And it's just me, and carnival is better with friends... 😊

Hopefully, my parcel will come in time today, so that I can hook up the Wii to the HDMI hub as well. Fingers crossed 🤞🏻 it will work! The only ones I can't connect all the time will be the NES, the PSone, and the two Nintendo Minis I have. But I can switch those with the cables of the PS2, as tbe old systems also use the tulip ones. The minis have HDMI, so those are easier to connect. Bur for now, if all goes well, I'll have most things I use connected to the telly... 😊

Even though I've been playing the PS5 loads, as I've been busy with "Lost Records: Bloom & Rage". I think I've almost finished the story line of Bloom, and Rage won't be out till somewhere in April, I think? Hopefully it will be available for PS+ premium then as well... 🤞🏻

There is no physio today, as I had an extra one last week, due to the carnival. Next physio is after my puncture, so I have to make due without it for two more weeks...

Chores for today? 🤔 I don't think there is much I need to do, but I did want to clean the doors on the hallway, as Arwen has been shaking some wetness to them, so they start to get a bit dirty.

And some day, I wanna grab the bucket of paint and quickly paint all the little bits of white wall what got smudged/damaged during the move and while I tried to hang stuff... There's some smudges here and there and they do annoy me... But I definitely need to be in the mood for that.... 😇

I should wash Arwen's towels today, which should be easily done! (I say now, until it's a reasonable time to let the machine run, and then I'll just feel "bläh" about it). So yeah, as weather should be good, I could wash the towels and plaids, as I can properly shake them out downstairs. I will hang them indoors, as we'll still have some colder nights...

So there's definitely some things that I could do.... But first, the gym! It's getting a wee bit less busy now, which is good for me. Then food, SniffiVerse™ walkies, some exercises, and I need to finish my journal blog. It needs a few more songs and I think some more images. So it should not take too long... I hope... And I do hope that I can finish the game I've neem playing, and maybe check what I'll need to do to get all things (achievement wise) done before the new part of the game comes out. But there will probably be a guide somewhere to help me with that... 😊

Anywhoo... let's check my other social media. And then... Get my big behind to the seated bike! 💪🏼

Have a good second Monday folks! we got this!

Diary of an ASD Squirrel. Day 492 , Monday 03/03/2025

Monday started rather late - I managed to sleep thru until about 7am & read for a while before getting up.

After breakfast I did my chores & then read a little more of my book.

11:35 re-watching ‘Oppenheimer’ because I wasn’t very well the first time I saw it & it didn’t really register.
I ‘m glad I did.
Some 5 minutes in & JRO is talking to Niels Bohr - the famous physicist who, amongst other things dissuaded us of our notion that electrons circle the atom like planets around the sun.
JRO is struggling at Cambridge with lab work & Niels Bohr asks about his mathematics - Patrick Blackett, JRO’s professor answers saying: “Not good enough for the physicist he wants to be!”
Niels Bohr then says “Algebra is like sheet of music. The important thing isn’t can you read music, it’s can you hear it. Can you hear the music, Robert?”
Whilst I am to maths what a dolphin is to TT racing this analogy spoke to me & made me realise something:
I have always believed that computing is like music, one can be technically adept at either but to be really good at either you need a little extra, the ability to go beyond conscious thought & practice ones chosen art at an instinctive level.
This quote codified that concept for me.
I am a technical musician - I earned a Royal Schools of Music grade 7 in piano & can read sheet music - but, & here’s the thing’ while I can translate the music on the page into music via a piano, I cannot ‘hear’ that music in my head, simply by reading the notes - I have to play them!
This is why I don’t play music anymore - it was a technical exercise, to appease my mother more than anything else.
However with computers, I can ‘hear the music’, with the possible exception of networking, whose deeper levels are alchemy as far as I’m concerned!
I can do stuff instinctually (as many of my IT conversant Peeps can) that a lot of none tech folk struggle with.
I dearly wish that I could ‘hear the music’ in maths, but my ND brain & conventional maths don’t get on very well, I can use equations as tools in code to achieve a set end but that’s about it.

I got about 2 hours into the movie & then my attention waned, so I have left the final hour for tomorrow.

Played some more of ‘Ghost of Tsushima’ I’ve reached the stage of competence where I don’t die every other fight - I need a better bow - the ½ bow is somewhat underpowered!

My physical copy of J Clark Scott’s ‘How do it know?’ Arrived today, via my neighbours house - the Amazon delivery driver managing to mix the addresses up in some inexplicable way! 🙄🤦‍♂️

We had another energy saving session tonight - between 18:00 & 19:00, once again a one man battle to save the planet as Mrs S boiled the kettle & had various lights on around the house.
It’s only an hour for Nuggan’s sake! Hey ho.

Final Thoughts.

As the orange oaf & his minions & large parts of the western world - certainly in the upper echelons - are not merely ignoring climate change but actively work to accelerate it I do wonder if my small efforts are worth all the hassle!

On the other hand I guess it does no harm.

Thank you to all those who are helping me on this journey, in a myriad different ways. I am thankful to each & every one of you! 🫂 🫶🐿️🖖

Good evening Squirrel Fans.

I feel that when I’m not channeling Marvin the paranoid android I’m channeling Rincewind the Wizzard (sic). Many, many people are just plain surprised that I;ve made it thus far!!

“Rincewind, I’ve known you for an hour and I’m astonished you’ve lived even that long!’
‘Yes, but I have, haven’t I? I’ve got a sort of talent for it. Ask anyone. I’m an addict.’
‘Addicted to what?’
‘Life. I got hooked on it at an early age and I don’t want to give it up...’ “
Terry Pratchett — ‘Sourcery’

Right ‘Ghost of Tsushima’ calls, & I am nothing if not a gaming addict! 😆

Wherever you are, whatever you are doing, I hope you’re well & safe! 😊🫶🐿️🖖
