!New To Friendica I have this empty photo album that I want to delete. How do I get rid of it? When I click the name I get an url that ends with a long hex number. Friendica asks for a confirmation when I add /drop to the url and hit enter. After clicking 'Delete Album' Friendica tells me that the album cannot be found.
This album was created in the default language of my webbrowser. I changed to British English somewhat later, before deciding on adding a profile picture. My profile picture got created in a new album called 'Profile photos'. I want to get rid of the older non english album.

I actually found a way! w00t! I added a picture to the empty photo album. All of a sudden there was a button to drop the album. I clicked, and it's gone now.
When the album was empty there was nothing shown and no possible actions to take.

I've been troubleshooting the issues we keep having with Friendica.world.
The site gets unresponsive at nights (CET) around 3AM, and stays that way for a couple of hours. I've been trying to find the reason for that, but no luck yet.
It's not the backup (that runs at a different time), nor are the resources at 100%.
I did just change a setting for pm.max_children which defines the number of php-fpm processes which handle the web traffic, because I saw some errors about it having reached the max. This will fix some issues, but not sure if it fixes the freezing of the site.. We'll see I guess..
If there are people with some technical skills, wanting to help out running this thing (or any other instance we run), please send me a DM or mail info@friendica.world.
It's all volunteer work, and we can use some extra hands.

!New To Friendica I'm on Friendica.world and floss.social. I feel a bit puzzled by having two seperate fediverse accounts. What's the best practice? Keep both, and syncing the follows and followers? Dropping one or the other?
I really like my mastodon server and I believe it's impossible to see its timeline on my Friendica instance. Am I correct in believing this?
I also like my Friendica instance. My mastodon is specialising in floss, my Friendica is more general. I like the news items that appear on Friendica's local timeline.
So, I am thinking of making Friendica my main instance on the fediverse. I will read my news and all the toots from my follows and followers on Friendica and I will regularly check my mastodon instance for the local floss timeline.

About the mutuals, can it be that Friendica only shows a person as a mutual if that person is on friendica as well? I have one mutual here on Friendica, and that happens to be another Friendica user. I also follow my mastodon account on floss.social (and on floss.social I follow my Friendica account. Mastodon sees my Friendica account as a mutual).

in reply to gargle • •It took a couple of tries and there were a couple of 'user not found' messages when following and unfollowing my mastodon account. A final "re-fetch contact data" turned my mastodon account in a mutual. All is well now.
Now back to fosdem.org/2025/schedule/event…, the presentation that lead me into this adventure 😁
