@Eric Phelps Well, I've been in the Fediverse for years and you'll find my boats in at least 80% of these tags. It's actually the case that several thousand paddlers are heavily active on meta, while a few scattered idealists have fun with other topics here. But it's no different in other areas either, so ... stay tuned 😎
I just recently added conoeing to the tags I follow. But you're right, there's not a lot of action here. I like it that way. I don't want to spend hours scrolling. Three kayak pictures, two canoes, and about 20 mountain pictures. And then I put the phone away.
@Eric Phelps Well, I'm less interested in looking at pictures and more in an exchange between paddlers all over Europe. There are many local groups of kayakers in Germany, but active canoeists are rare here and widely spread across the country. Unfortunately, everyone seems to want to keep hanging out at meta. And of course, it's much nicer outside than on the net. 8)

Eerste indruk:
Sorry. De onboarding is niet goed. Het aanmaken van een account en checken van de instellingen is veel te vreemd en omslachtig voor de gemiddelde commerciële social media gebruiker. De meeste mensen die net van FB afkomen zullen dit een veel te grote drempel vinden vrees ik, zoals ook wel blijkt uit het aantal gebruikers 🤔 (ik heb er zelf geen moeite mee hoor! Maar ik ben dan ook geen doorsnee FB gebruiker, die Mastodon vaak al te ingewikkeld vindt)
Koppelen van Bsky gaat ook niet helemaal goed (misschien ligt het aan mij?) Ik krijg direct tientallen mailtjes van posts die ik al lang heb gezien op Bsky - oops, snel notificatie settings veranderen! Dan lijkt het soepel te werken, maar zodra ik op Friendica op iemand op Bsky reageer, wordt het alleen hier en niet op Bsky gepost... raar?
Friendica zelf lijkt soepel en tof te werken! Dat je bericht openbaar of alleen voor volgers, maar ook in verschillende cirkels kan

Bijvoorbeeld: ontdekken hoe je hier alt-text gebruikt... wie wil me helpen alsjeblieft?
Eens , het opstarten van een account is best wel een dingetje. Ik moest toch echt mijn best doen om uit te vinden hoe het ging. Dat zal voor veel Facebook-gebruikers een probleem zijn. Misschien eens samen nadenken hoe dat beter zou kunnen.
Interesting note to remember and understand when so many want to jump to other services... Sad to see it go but it is at the very least an understanding of why things are the way they are in the social app space:
