#Journal of a slightly tired Dutch Pixy 🧚🏼‍♀️ (Thursday, 13/02/2025).

TL;DR usual day to be honest, was just very tired when we got back from Nijmegen.... 😊

Woke early, about 50 minutes to the alarm. But I had a silly dream and I was very much awake, so I just started my day. Did the usual tidbits and when Arwen was enjoying her meal, I got to the gym.

I chatted a bit with some sweet friends while I waited for the meds to kick in. My muscles were rather sore from the exercises that I did on Wednesday, so I decided to just ride the seated bike. Was on it for 50 minutes, and then I wanted to use the massage chair. But... Just as I was finishing on the bike, two folks came in and headed directly to the chairs... Bummer! So I just headed home again.

Washed up and had brekky. Then Arwen and I got ready for the SniffiVerse™ walkies. We had a nice walk, but there was silly drizzling rain every now and then, which was annoying to say the least. But hey ho, we managed...

When we got home, I just didn't feel like exercising. I went to the couch, grabbed my laptop, and worked on my blog a bit. And I decided to try a bit of Friendica on the laptop as well, as it has more options there than on mobile. 😊

Fixed some food, but the meat didn't taste right, so I left that alone. Didn't want to risk getting ill. Got my bags ready and then I walked Arwen before heading to Nijmegen. Bestie called during the ride and we had a nice chat. I had to fill up Skoosh, so I called her back agher I was done.

When mum was ready, we headed to Germany. Got the groceries that we needed, went to the Dutch Lidl and Appie and then I helped mum with her groceries. When she was all sorted, we walked the dogs to the small woods. They had lot of fun there.

Back at my parent's place, I got my groceries, and we headed back home again. I didn't even clean up all the things, as I was just so tired. I fixed food for Arwen and myself and then I watched telly till it was time to walk with N&B. Another relaxing TV hour after that, and then I got ready to head to bed.

I fell asleep rather quickly, which resulted in me waking up sooooo very hot! As I'd fallen asleep before I turned off the electric blanket. 🫣 Whoops! Went to the loo after turning it off, went to bed, and slept till the alarm.

Got to the scale and it was a bit kinder to me this time. 😊 Then, I was getting ready to start my new day! Can't believe it's been a week already since I went to the zoo with my friends!

SniffiVerse™ walkies Toot

Ello frens and fans of Arwen

brrrr it's a chilly night. The weather station says it's close to -3°C, and the real feel is around -5 according go the weather witches 🧙🏻‍♀️. So Arwen has her coat on, and my gloves are in my pocket.

Did my best at the gym. Rode the seated bike for half an hour and then I saw that the Smith Machine area was clear, so I got my gloves and headed there. Got 4 sets of 8 reps in, with 10kg in total added to the 11,3kg bar. 😊

Had a massage in the chair and then I got back home again. Arwen is walking a bit wobbly tonight, so we're taking it slow and maybe we need to do a short round if her body is bothering her... She needs to walk some, but I don't wanna pressure her into walking too much if it's causing her discomfort.

Let's see if I can muddle a bit with my Friendica account, as I need to do an introduction post there still... 😊

Diary of an ASD Squirrel. Day 473 , Wednesday 12/02/2025

TL:DR tonight’s post includes some politics & some philosophy that some may not agree with - if you are easily offended best stop reading now.

Really struggled to sleep last night, some semi subconscious worrying about the whole new therapist thing today.

Up at around 07:30 got breakfast & cleaned up.

So tired at the moment, really struggled to get going today, I am getting a lot of my audiobook listened to tho!

Watched ‘The Martian’ this afternoon, love that movie, definitely one of my top 10!

I read a toot this afternoon my reaction was one of dismay. Even in a safe space like the Fediverse any response from me would not be received well. If I were a different gender, race or sexual orientation I could reply freely.
So here are my thoughts on this & other posts that I have seen over the last several months:

When is it right to generalise?
To insult an entire demographic simply because you can, because you know that the weight of public opinion is behind you & you know that no member of that demographic, no matter what their life experience, no matter their beliefs, no matter what their circumstances, can respond for fear of censure.
When is it right to deny an entire demographic a right to reply, to claim that they cannot possibly understand your point of view because they are not of your demographic. If this were true then it would have to be true for ALL demographics.
When is it right to say that an entire demographic are not human, are indeed less than human - that they are not of planet Earth?

One day, if our species survives the current challenges,& does not in fact cause its own destruction due to abject stupidity, we may ALL learn that each of us has a right to live without the stigma of the past, & that colour, sexuality, mental status & religion are simply all facets of a diverse but unified group - Homo sapiens - with differences to be celebrated not derided!

This one toot reinforced that which I have thought to myself many times, especially recently. That I am not worthy to be here, that I have no function in society other than to be a drain on its resources. That the world would be a better place without me. I am sure this was not the intent behind the toot, but this is the result of blind generalisation by an NT person on this ND mind!

Final Thoughts.

One of the things I have come to understand about myself during my ASD journey so far is that I take things literally, too literally at times, & that I take things to heart far more than others.
Thus it makes it hard for me to distance myself from the things I read & hear that appear on face value to be directed at a group that includes me. It makes it harder when any attempt to defend myself would result in being pilloried & possibly ostracised.

Very few people have power like Trump to upend & change the very basis of our society - for good or ill - single handedly. The rest of us simply have to do the best we can to make the world a better place, to change small things around us & about us. To be lumped in the same group as Trump & Musk, Farage & Johnson appalls me & upsets me. I am nothing like those … people. I am far from perfect but I reject utterly their politics, beliefs & their sense of superiority!

Don’t worry, today has not tipped me over ‘the edge’ or anything like that, although, like the doomsday clock, I inched ever so slightly towards it.
I go on, day by day, until the last day.

SniffiVerse™ walkies Toot

Ello frens and fans of Arwen

The thing of having your body bully you into getting out of bed early, also means we have earlier walkies. It's almost 3°C at the moment, with a slight rain. There's too much to need a umbrella, but it's just the bare minimum to need it, if that makes sense... 😊 The real feel is about 0, but it's not too windy so at the moment, it's not too bad.

I'll write the journal Toot after this one but have been chatting with a sweet friend, so I've had less time to write here. 😊

Today us Germany with mum day again. So I won't be online too much in the morning.

I am slowly trying to learn more about Friendica, as it's very big with many options, at least to me. But do far, it doesn't look too bad. And maybe if I learn enough about it, maybe it could be something that my friends could be interested in... 🤔

OK, let's see if I can write the journal Toot. It's a bit more challenging with the umbrella. But Arwen is still busy with all the sniffs so we're going slowly...

#Journal of a Dutch Pixy 🧚🏼‍♀️ (Wednesday, 12/02/2025).

TL;DR usual start of the day, an extra walkies in the woods with a friend, some relaxing with a new (to me) TV show.

Woke before the alarm went off. Got to the scale, got dressed, and cared for Arwen. When she was all good, I got my bag and I headed do the gym.

I checked my social media bits while the meds were kicking in. Then, I saw that the Smith Machine arwa was taken, so I started with the seated bike. After half an hour, I saw that the area was clear, so I got my gloves, and I headed to the machine. I managed four sets, but the last two had a little less reps, as it was getting harder for me to do. But hey, I did them! Yay! I was sure that I'd feel it later 😂. After that, I enjoyed the massage chair and then it was time to head back home again.

I washed up, had brekky, and then prepared for walkies with Arwen. It was a dry night, not too cold, so that was a good walk. Arwen wanted the longer walkies, so we got some steps in. 😊

When we got back, I changed my clothes and got upstairs. I rode the hometrainer for a while, followed by a row on the machine. Then back downstairs, a change of clothes, and I fixed some food.

When that was all done, Arwen wanted another walkies, so we headed our for a short one. We'd be meeting our friends at the woods a little later for a walk there. So no long walkies after the long one we did during the night.

When we got back again, I relaxed a bit on the couch with some Lego gaming. Then our friend texted that they were heading to the woods, so we got ready as well. We had to wait a bit in the car, and Arwen was so excited that she kept bouncing on the back seats of Skoosh... 😂

We had a very nice walk with our friends and Arwen got many splashes in! Yay for her! 😁 When we got back to Skoosh, it started to rain, so we had been fortunate with the weather.

We got back and relaxed a bit on the couch. I saw a new show on HBO that sounded interesting, so I decided to try it out. It's called Found. (m.imdb.com/title/tt9071808/?re…) I rather liked it and ended up watching it till it was time to walk with N&B. In between I found a Friendica instance that seemed to be good, so I signed up and looked around. I don't know how much I will use it, but maybe I can integrate it with my different Fedi accounts... 🤔 There are many options there, so I will need time to figure it all out... 😊

We had a nice walk together. Then I watched some more Found before it was time to let Arwen wee and get to bed.

I slept in one go until about 50 minutes till the alarm. I was rather stiff and my body demanded me getting up and moving again... So I obeyed. And, I woke up to a news item that there was yet another fire at the reception site.... Ugh...

I got up and started my day...
