Kompensoinnin teen 3x määrällä, koska voidaan ajatella että on vaikka 50% mahdollisuus että vanhaa metsää ei hakattaisi seuraavan 20 vuoden sisään vaikka sitä ei suojeltaisikaan, ja lisäksi voi ajatella että uusi tuotettu hiilidioksidipäästö on joka tapauksessa sidottava jossain vaiheessa. Jokaisessa käänteessä siis arvioidaan ylärajan mukaan jotta ei ainakaan tarkoituksella viherpestä omaa toimintaa (vaikka tietysti päästöjen tuottamatta jättäminen olisi se paras toiminta).
Finnairin laskuri antaa 0.370 tCO2 Suomi-Espanja-Suomi matkalla
Lentojen hiilidioksidipäästöt pitää huomioida vaikutuksiltaan 2-3 kertaa suurempina johtuen siitä että päästöt tapahtuvat korkealla.

Voidaan laskea siis että lentojen päästöt ovat noin 1 tCO2e lentojen vaikutus Suomi-Espanja-Suomi matkalla.
Kompensoitava määrä ~3tCO2e kun huomioidaan tuo 3x kerroin.
Suojelemalla säästyvä vanhan metsän määrä 3 tCO2e / ( 400 tCO2e / hehtaari) = 1/133 hehtaaria.
1/133 hehtaaria * 6000 euroa / hehtaari = 45 euroa.
Aika vähän joka tapauksessa lomamatkan kokonaishintaan nähden, ja tässä on vasta
ne hiilivaraston säästymisen hyöty, lisäksi vanhan metsän suojelemisella on muutkin hyötynsä.
Finnairin oma kompensaatiolaskuri antoi hinnaksi 8 euroa, eli noin kuudesosan siitä mitä tällä laskelmalla tuli. Oletan että siellä on jätetty pois ylikompensoinnit ja mahdollisesti käytetty juuri noita halvempia kompensaatiokohteita. En pidä sitä tulosta riittävän luotettavana.
Helpoin kohde tämän kompensaation aikaansaamiseksi on lahjoittaa se nähdäkseni Luonnonperintösäätiölle kohdistettuna Uudenmaan metsien suojeluun.

- an organized community group or just a couple of friends started clearing bike lanes
- this carried on for years
- one day their machine broke or the person who was doing it got sick
- citizens complained to city council that the bike lanes weren't being cleared
- council was suprised to learn that they were ever cleared
- that established expectation led the city to buy equipment and start clearing the bike lanes

I found the manufacturer. I would also consider a xyz-cargo-trike/quad with integrated sweeper. This would allow for integrating the sweeper in the drivetrain for pure muscle power...
