Good morning Fellow Travellers on Spaceship Earth 🌍 I am up early with the parrots today and have just finished the morning session with Ziggy, who is in fine form today, grabbing my phone and "frowing it to the fwoor" and then announcing proudly that she is a "Good Boo Boo", eating up her baby food and shaking her head so that my top is now speckled with purple dots, and laughing away to herself and setting Jadie off so that we all end up "laughs" together 🙂 I know I've said it before, but I love that little bird something fierce ❤️

I just realised today that it is May (🤦‍♀️), which means I will soon be celebrating another successful trip around the Sun, and that means it's time for another competition! I'll be posting that this morning.

Gaming day for me today. I'm really into BG3 now and having a whale of a time. I'm really glad I decided to restart it.

#Spotted While Roaming in Aotearoa New Zealand:

A woman (30s?) and a tiny human (2?) are dancing with tremendous glee as a nearby busker plays a soaring guitar solo.
Seagulls are congregating to watch. Are there chips here? No? Will dancing lead to chips? Better wait and see, just in case.

A young human (8?) is treating a park bench as a parkour obstacle. LEAPING onto it, running along and then JUMPING off, his face red, expression triumphant.
Did anyone notice?
Yep.
People are watching.
Good. Okay.
His jaw jutting out, he races towards the next bench. He has ALL the skills.

Two young humans (8?) are jumping up and down on some springy matting placed around the base of a huge shady tree in the centre of town. They're seeing how high they can get. Arms whirling for balance. Giggle-drunk on fun.

A small human (4?) runs excitedly to a tractor ride at the shops. Mum says, "It's broken matey."
Small Human looks pugnacious. With scientific certainty he says: "No! You put money in and it works. I'll show you!" Mum has no choice but to produce a coin.
Scientific observation is victorious!

An American tourist is walking around a gallery with a distant smile. The gallery owner asks if she needs help. She says: "No, I'm just filling my cup before I fly home."
He says: "You must be looking forward to that."
She shakes her head emphatically: "No! I want to stay here forever!"

Ello sweet and lovely Friendos

I is back folks! It's too late to run!

I had a good night! 😁 Woke once for the loo around 21, was like "way too early" and went back to sleep. Then startled as my alarm woke me! I almost got 7½ hours of sleep, even my watch was excited 😂 haha! My sleep score was 86, so not too bad at all, considering my watch hates it that I don't sleep between 23-3 😂.

Today should be a busy day. No garden work for me, as I'll be taking mum to Germany. Yesterday the shops were closed there, so we'll be going today. Fingers crossed 🤞🏻 that we'll be early enough, so it won't be too busy yet...

We will also visit the garden center again, so I can get the things I need for Arwen's corner. The funds are very low, especially as Arwen also needs her pills soon again (and they're so expensive ). But they help her so well, so I gotta do what I can to make ends meed and to get her the meds... But if I can get the cloth, pins, and a simple outdoor carpet, then the corner should be made well enough for her to relax in the shade. As much as we can relax with all that noise... Can't wait for the weekend, when they don't work! 😂

But yeah, Germany, the Appie, Intratuin... It will be a busy morning for sure... So I guess that, when we get home, I'll be very tired...

It should be less warm today, which will be good, especially for the dogs. They say it should be a sunny day again, the last one for a few days, with 24°C. When I went to bed yesterday afternoon, my weather station said it was 31°C. Dunno how accurate it was, but it was very warm when I let Arwen out for the last wee. This weekend should be a bit cooler with maybe some rain? Next week, it has temps between 12-16°C, so cooler than this week, but not too bad overall... I'll add the forecast, just because I can. But I'll ask altbot to help me with it, as I'm not too good with snaps like these...

My body is sore. My right arm, shoulder, elbow, and hand are complaining when I move. Heck, my elbow even complains when I don't move... 😔 My lower back was giving me some issues as well, so I was glad for the pain meds before I went to bed. Today a rest from the garden, if weather allows, maybe I can finish Arwen's corner this weekend... My green bin is almost filled, and they won't empty it till next week, so I have to leave some space available for the food bits... If body and weather allow, I'll just keep digging out more weeds, and then I'll stack them. So when the bin is emptied next week, I can start to fill it again. I really want the garden to have less weeds. I had the anti-weed cloth for the front garden, but now, I wanna finish the back one first. I can't properly relax when I see all the weeds. (I can't really relax as long as the construction is being done behind the house). We should have some pavements again behind the house by the end of next week. Which means... They'll use the vibrating machine again to get all the stones in place... Which will drone through the house again... Wish I was less sensitive to sounds... 😔 Ah well.... Some day, it should all be done, and then, we should have a meat area where we can relax 🤞🏻.

Guess I'd better get some exercises done now! Will catch you in a bit, when I've written my journal Toot! 😁

#Journal of a slightly sore Dutch Pixy (Thursday, 01/05/2025).

I woke about 80 minutes before the alarm. I went to the loo and tried to sleep again. But after about ten minutes, I gave up, and got up. Got Arwen her meds, got to the scale, then I got dressed. Let Arwen out for a wee, took my own meds, and then I waited till I could give Arwen her food. When she was happily eating, I got my bag and headed to the gym.

Checked my social media while I was enjoying the protein shake. As my steps were low, I decided to get to the treadmill first. I walked for 1 mile, which was funny as I usually aim for certain kilometer numbers. The seated bikes were b rather busy, so I got to the crosstrainer instead. I didn't use it too long, as my arms didn't like it too much. But it was nice to do something different. A massage in the chair followed. Then I switched my shoes and headed back to Arwen.

Washed up, switched clothes, had brekky. We set out for walkies. The weather was nice enough, so that was a plus. Arwen wanted to walk the shorter walk, which was all good. Of course, I hope that she feels well enough for a longer walk, but hey, I follow her lead, as I can't feel how she's feeling.

When we got back, I relaxed for a while. I felt so sore and tired. Then, I did switch my clothes and went upstairs for a short bike ride. I even managed some light weight dumbbell exercises. I relaxed some more. Then Arwen and I walked the short walk. I fixed some food, after which we headed out to the back garden.

I worked for a other hour. I got most of Arwen's corner weed free. And I got some weeds from the bigger patch out too. My body was sore. And I was tired. So after about an hour, I cleaned up my things and relaxed a bit.

Walkies with Arwen. We got back, and I was cleaning the mat, when the neighbor came around the corner. Arwen saw them, so yeah, we walked a second walkies then! 😂 The things Arwen does for nomnoms....

I tried to enjoy the sun and a book in the garden after that. But the sounds were loud, there was some horrible music added to the mix, and the person working on the other side of my fence obviously was a smoker. So after about 45 minutes, I just had to get back inside. It was getting quite warm too, so I closed everything in the back, to keep out some of the heat.

Arwen and I went for a short walk and then we relaxed for a while. I was sore and tired, so watching some telly was nice. Just wish I could have been more comfortable 😂.

Then, a shorter walk with the neighbor and her dog, as the weather was rather warm. Some more relaxing after that, until it was time for the last wee. Arwen was too warm for a walk, so she just headed out and did her thing.

We went to sleep. It didn't take too long to fall asleep, I was rather tired. I woke once, around 21, for the loo. And then, I was startled when the alarm told me that it was time to get up. Wow! I got about 7½ hours of sleep... 😊

SniffiVerse™ walkies Toot

Ello frens and fans of Arwen

It's a warm night tonight. It's still around 14°C, and it's dry, so it's not a bad night for walkies. Arwen is going slowly, getting all the sniffs and doing her things.

I rode the seated bike for 20 minutes and then I walked the treadmill for 10. Still feel like I should be doing more. So I'll try to motivate myself enough to do some exercises upstairs tonight. My arms are definitely getting weaker, which isn't preferable when I need to walk with my crutches. So, even though the muscles hurt, I should try to keep up with some of the dumbbells exercises. 🤔

Tonight I wanna work on my blog a bit and do some exercises. Hopefully, there will also be some time to relax, before Arwen and I will head to Nijmegen. Fingers crossed 🤞🏻 that mum and I will be early enough for the groceries in Germany. Shops were closed there yesterday, which often means that the day after will be busier...

Hopefully I can get everything done this night and still relax a bit tonight. I had a good sleep, but am not all recharged yet...

Ugh... It's been a while since this happened... But my brain is fighting heavily with my body again.
I am feeling so very tired. So, after some low level exercice, I lay on the couch and I hoped for some relaxing time.
But my brain keeps jumping from this to that, it keeps wondering about things that I should or could be doing.
My GP gave me some meds to help me with moments like these, when the ADHD meds itself weren't getting my brain quiet enough. So to speak...
Just took the first one of those pills. I hope that it will work soon.
I feel like I need to be doing loads of things at the same time, but I also feel like I need to sleep for at least two hours or so, to recharge...
So, I do what I usually do when my brain gets too busy like this... I write!

First, I wrote this... And when I send this toot, I will start on a blog post.

I've lived with my AuDHD for all my life... I got a diagnosis about 14 years ago. I didn't start my methylphenidate meds until about 1½ years ago. It took a while to find the right dosage, which for me, is at the maximum that they usually prescribe. And it's been helpful for sure. But, moments like this, I just feel like my meds aren't doing anything, and the thoughts are so intrusive and giving me a headache. They tire me out, even more than any physical exercise would do at this moment...

So, I will write, and I hope that the pill I've just taken will help me to relax bit better...

On the couch, with my lovely gall at my feet. Windows are open, with just the sounds of the highway coming through. No construction sounds make for a nice change... 😊 It's 12 degrees outside, but inside, it got rather warm with 22. So I have my two windows open, sp hopefully it will cool a little. I don't mind if it's warmer inside (warmer, not too warm, mind you), but it's better for Arwen if it doesn't get too hot... And today should be another warm day, with the forecasts mentioning temps between 25 and 29 degrees. So getting in some fresh air, and almost silence, when we can... Although, Arwen just started snoring... 😉

Will try to write a bit for my blog on the tablet now, I'll need to grab the laptop again tomorrow for some journal blog editing.

If my muscles are able to relax enough, I will change some clothes and ride the home trainer for a while. But for now, I need to work on a blog post, as it needs to be done in a few days... 😇

Ow, BTW, it seems that friendica.world is working, most of the time, but it's very slow and not always responsive. I will try to boost from there what I can... But yesterday, I was using the official web-based "app", and my phone got so slow... So yay for Raccoon. It;'s a little less "neat", but it works faster, when Friendica is up and running...

Aaaaah, it's May now, so I'll also "have to" see about my April stats for my Spotify activity...
